Max and Shirley Belcher have been an integral part of the Osteopathic and Naturopathic industry in Whangarei for over 30 years.

Max Belcher

Max began his career by graduating from South Pacific College of Natural Therapies (N.Z.) with a Diploma in Naturopathy before moving to Sydney in 1980 where he continued his education at the Pacific College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating with a Diploma in Osteopathy in 1983. 

Returning to New Zealand, Max established the Whangarei Osteopathic Clinic in Whangarei in 1984 before working at the Whangarei Treatment Providers from 2004 until 2017 when he moved to 69 Bank street to work with his wife Shirley in the current Practice ‘Belchers’, providing both Osteopathic and Naturopathic treatments.

In his spare time Max enjoys vintage car activities and has travelled extensively, especially throughout New Zealand.

Shirley Belcher

B.HSc (Complementary Medicine), Naturopath
Reg. Medical Herbalist (N.Z.A.M.H.)

Shirley studied Homoeopathy, Nutrition and Massage in Sydney from 1980 until 1983, moving from Australia to New Zealand with Max to open Whangarei Osteopathic & Natural Therapies Clinic in 1984.

Continuing her studies, Shirley became a Naturopath and Registered Medical Herbalist in 1987 going on to complete a Bachelor of Science (Complementary Medicine) from Charles Sturt Uni (Aust) in 2004.

Shirley worked at Whangarei Treatment Providers until 2015 when Shirley moved with Max to 69 Bank Street to open ‘Belchers’, a practice specilizing in Osteopathy and Naturopathy .

Shirley’s hobbies include reading, travel and cooking.
